pleasantville-3

Pleasantville’s boys’ basketball team will have just two of five starters returning next season, and there are a few uncertainties as to who will be put in the starting lineup in 2021-22.

The Trojans will have Mason Scheve and Taylon Mount returning for next season, who were their best three-point shooters. Players that saw action off the bench last year included Jake DeJoode, Parker Sheets, and Jonah Schumacher. Pleasantville will have to find three players to fill the voids of Colby Sandholdt, Caylor Clark, and Austin McMillin. Coach Tom Wilkins tells KNIA Sports that he applauded the team’s effort after the season ended.

“Just the effort they gave every single night. We got blown out in a few games. We had five or six games that we lost by six points or less. We lost two games by one point and one game in overtime.”

Pleasantville finished 8-14 on the season, including a playoff win over Colfax-Mingo, but lost in the second round to Des Moines Christian.
