Simpson College is hosting a virtual discussion today with the author of “Ida B. The Queen: The Extraordinary Life and Legacy of Ida B. Wells” today, inviting author, professor, public historian, and advocate Michelle Duster to speak as part of Black History Month on campus. Duster’s great grandmother was Ida B. Wells, a journalist and early leader in the civil rights movement. The event is co-sponsored by Simpson College’s Office of Multicultural and International Affairs, the Culver Public Policy Center, Black Student Union, Multicultural Student Alliance, Student Justice Association, Social Justice Studies and Women’s and Gender Studies, with the event scheduled to take place at 7pm over Zoom.
