Despite harsher weather in January and February, the Pella Community School District remains on track to finish the 2020-21 school year by the end of May. Superintendent Greg Ebeling says with the uptick in late starts, early outs, and snow days since the calendar flipped to 2021, they will plan to go virtual for any potential weather days if conditions would prevent kids from coming to school to make sure they can be out of the building before June. Ebeling is thankful they have been able to remain in person the entire academic year and for the continuing efforts of students, staff, and parents to adhere to social distancing guidelines and mask wearing to keep activities going and everyone in the buildings. The Pella School Board approved the 2021-22 academic calendar at their most recent meeting, with classes slated to begin on Monday, August 23rd.
