Nine Indianola students were selected to take part in the National Council on Youth Leadership held annually at Drake University. The nine students:

The NCYL is an exclusive leadership seminar with the purpose of recognizing and fostering high ideals of leadership and integrity among the youth of America. Approximately 250 students from 23 area schools were selected to attend for leadership qualities and scholastic record.
