PCM’s boys’ basketball team will be looking to improve their outside shooting as they struggled from beyond the arc throughout 2020-21.
The Mustangs had just two players shoot better than 30% from beyond the arc, who was Junior Carson Vandelune and Senior Grant Landgrebe. Sage Burns, Andrew Mitchell, and Gatlin Boell all shot roughly 23% from downtown, which made the team shooting 27% from the three-point range. Coach Fred Lorensen tells KRLS Sports that he believes his players can improve in the offseason if they put in the work.
“If you look at our statistics, it’s pretty obvious. We need to shoot the ball better. I think we got a lot of kids that are capable of doing that. A lot will depend on how much work they will put in between the season-ending and the season begins, and I think that the kids can put in the time. If we can shoot the ball better, we can be a really effective team next year.”
PCM finished with an 11-11 record with a substate semifinal loss to Des Moines Christian.
