The Knoxville Chamber of Commerce held its 2021 Annual Meeting Friday on its Facebook page. Executive Director Emma Skahill shared the new board of directors, the accomplishments of 2020, and more.
Skahill introduced new initiatives in 2021, including an expansion of the #IChooseKnoxville campaign, where businesses will share why they choose Knoxville. Iowa State Extension & Outreach’s Great Iowa Road Trip is a statewide effort to revitalize the business community in small cities, and will pass through Knoxville on April 30th and May 1st. Skahill highlighted upcoming projects, including the VA campus demolition and construction of the new middle school. Skahill said that the Chamber will likely bring back many of its in-person events after most of them were cancelled in 2020.
