Knoxville HyVee staff presented Northstar Elementary School in Knoxville with $1,000 Wednesday morning as part of HyVee’s Fuel Your School sweepstakes. This program allowed customers to support local schools by purchasing certain products. Selected winners chose a school to win a cash donation, and winner Linda McKeever says her granddaughter Jocelyn helped decide where to send the proceeds.

“I let my granddaughter Jocelyn McKeever, who is a senior this year, decide which school she thought should get it. She’s very fond of Northstar, so she chose Northstar.”

Northstar Elementary was one of 55 schools in HyVee’s eight-state region which was selected to receive a grant as part of the company’s pledge to support local education. Hear more about this donation on an upcoming Let’s Talk Knoxville.
