The Indianola School Board set the 2021-22 school calendar at their meeting Monday, setting a return to a full schedule for all schools in the district. Superintendent Art Sathoff tells KNIA News the calendar is always a conglomerate of ideas from teachers, staff, and district employees, and the district will welcome back students on August 23rd.

“One change we made was making sure we had two solid weeks off for winter break which is something people have liked when we’ve been able to do that, with winter break running from December 22nd – January 4th. We don’t have the day off before Thanksgiving now to get winter break where we wanted it. We have a spring break this next year March 14-18th, and the last day of school will be May 27th.

Sathoff also said the overall calendar is not much different than in previous years, and holds approximately eight snow days that can be flexed to help create space and education hours when needed.
