It has been a roller coaster beginning to Kelsey Ryan’s college soccer career at Wartburg. The former Knoxville Panthers standout completed her freshman season with the Knights in the normal fall season and last spring was getting ready for offseason workouts for her sophomore season, and as with everything, the COVID-19 pandemic hit and paused the team’s workouts. She is now preparing for her sophomore season this spring which is scheduled to start later in March. Ryan tells KNIA/KRLS Sports there was a lot of uncertainty surrounding what the program would do moving forward.
Ryan:
“Then we were kind of up in the air about what we were doing about our fall season and we had some practices but they were all intersquad. We tried to make that as normal as possible and now with spring we started out practices a couple of weeks ago and making due around the weather elements.”
Wartburg is scheduled to get its season underway March 27th at Buena Vista. The Knights’ matches against Simpson on April 10th and Central College on April 17th are both scheduled to be held in Waverly.
