Melcher-Dallas’ boys’ basketball team will be looking for a new boys basketball coach as Jim Wells announced his retirement after 23 years with the program.
Wells retired from Melcher-Dallas with 213 career wins, including three seasons with 17 wins or more from 2004-07. He also coached three 1,000 point scorers in BJ Wells, Chase Wetterling, and Ryan Krpan, and also won three conference tournament championships.
Melcher-Dallas finished 2020-21 with a 9-10 record and a first-round playoff loss at North Mahaska.
