Melcher-Dallas’ boys track team are preparing to get back in action for the first time since 2019 after the 2020 spring sports season was shut down due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

 

The Saints, last time they competed, finished fourth in the Bluegrass Conference Tournament behind Lamoni, Ankeny Christian and Murray. After the hiatus, Coach Jon Suntken tells KNIA Sports that it is going to be hard to get a read on the team this season.

 

“Getting back into race mentality and race shape, whatever that may look like. Form in the hurdles in the shot, disc, long jump, high jump, it is going to take some time for us to get back.”

 

Suntken also says that he expects the Krpan Twins, Steven and Ryan, to be the leader of the 13-player lineup the Saints will put forth.
