Several Pella High School students earned All-State recognition from the Jazz Educators of Iowa. Pella Jazz I Director Dameon Place says the following students were recognized:

Isaac Piersma, Drums (4-time qualifier)
Riley Sorheim – Alto Saxophone
Eli Ebeling – Bari Saxophone
Dora Roorda – Trumpet
Tyler Mifflin – Trumpet
Morgan Uitermarkt – Trombone
Penny Shriver – Bass
Alexa Gaylor – Vibes

Alternates:
Jacob Rietveld – Trombone
Brandon Winegardner – Drums

Pending approval from the Pella City Council and depending on any possible state guidelines determining otherwise, the Class 3A All-State Jazz Band–which includes performers from eight different schools across Iowa, plans to have a performance on Saturday, June 12th on the Tulip Toren.
