The Knoxville Girls Track and Field Squad is around three weeks from starting its season. That was something the Panthers never got to do last year, as the COVID-19 pandemic shut down spring sports and cancelled the season. First year Coach Michael Splavec tells KNIA/KRLS Sports the girls are ready to get back on the track after losing the season last year.
Splavec:
“A lot of them are feeling that way, and they were upset and getting ready for last year, and all the way to that state qualifier, and a lot of the kids are just ready to show what they can do on the track.”
The Panthers start the season April 1st at Pella Christian, the annual Panther Relays will be April 15th at the Randy Wilson Track in Knoxville.
