After having the spring sports season shut down due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, PCM’s track and field teams will have no problem filling events.

Both teams will have more than 40 players on the roster, both a blessing and a curse for the Mustangs. It is a blessing because the team will have no problem filling events, but a curse because maybe not everybody will get the opportunity to compete. Girls Coach Eric Karr tells KRLS Sports that with track being a varsity sport, it will be challenging to accomplish getting everybody to compete in a meet.

“That is fantastic and I love it. But one of the challenges is going to be that Track is a varsity sport for PCM, we don’t have a freshman team, we don’t have a JV team. Trying to get everybody into a meet is something that I have always strived to do, get into one event. The reality is, I don’t know if I can do that with 44 kids out.”

Karr also states that he believes the 44 athletes on his roster is the most he’s had on a roster during his time as a coach. PCM’s girls’ first track meet is March 30 at home.
