Girl Scout cookie season has officially begun for local Girl Scout Troops, with additional contactless options to purchase cookies this year. Scout leader Jennifer Sedlock tells KNIA News some troops will be offering drive through cookie booths payable with cash or card, as well as booths set up at local stores such as the Indianola HyVee or Theisens. Sedlock also said each individual girl scout also has the capability of sending out a personal ordering link via email or social media so customers can choose to order online, which will then be delivered via porch/door drop off or direct shipping. Girl Scout cookie season runs through March 28th, and serves as the largest fundraiser of the year for troops to fund their summer activities. Each box costs $5. For more information, look below.
Some Troops will be offering drive thru cookie booths at locations around town such as Community 1st Credit Union, People’s Bank, the parking lot of the Warren County Sheriff’s Office/Dollar General, Casey East Parking lot and LaCasa Mexican Restaurant Parking lot. These locations offer customers the opportunity to drive thru and pick up their cookies.
The 2021 Girl Scout Cookie season offers 9 flavors of Cookies: Toast-Yay, S’mores, Lemonades, Shortbreads, Thin Mints, Peanut Butter Patties, Caramel DeLites, Peanut Butter Sandwich, and Caramel Chocolate Chip. The Toast-Yay is the New cookie for 2021 with a flair on French Toast, its flavors remind me of the cereal Cinnamon Toast Crunch. It has a maple icing on the bottom and is absolutely delicious. On a sad note, this will be the last year for the Girl Scout S’mores cookie so stock up your freezer now with this delicious graham and chocolate deliciousness. The Caramel Chocolate Chip is our Gluten Free, Soy Free, Wheat Free, and Nut Free Cookie.
