With the Warren County Justice Center Project ongoing on the downtown Indianola square, and the upcoming Streetscape Project set to go out to bid this spring, the Indianola City Council and Warren County Supervisors recently approved an agreement for the two projects to work in tandem. Community and Economic Development Director Charlie Dissell tells KNIA News items such as the square right-of-way, who will be responsible for maintenance, and many other items are part of the agreement for the joint construction.

“We are working with the county to get to a common place. The county has their project, we have our project, we want them both done as both will be a benefit to the square in the end. We just want to work together and not be thorns in each other’s side. This is something the council has directed staff to do as we’ve been working on this over the past year.”
