The Warren County Board of Supervisors approved a recount in the election for Indianola mayor last week, which will take place tomorrow. The race was decided by 12 votes in favor of Pam Pepper, with candidate Stephanie Erickson requesting a recount, citing in a social media post concerns about the absentee ballots and the election being decided by such a small margin with nearly 1,500 votes overall.
The recount will take place tomorrow with both candidates receiving a representative as well as a neutral third party present. Pam Pepper will be represented by John Parker Jr., Stephanie Erickson will be represented by Mark Snell, with Terry Taylor serving as the third party moderator.
