Both of PCM’s golf teams started practice today for the first time since 2019, and both teams will be operating on brand new coaches for the 2021 season.
The Mustangs boys will have veteran coach Mike Cardin joining the coaching ranks for 2021. Cardin is coming over from Ottumwa after coaching there for 26 years. Cardin was hired to be the coach for 2020, but the spring sports season was shut down due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Cardin’s style of coaching involves emphasis on the short game, including putting.
The Mustangs girls will have a new head coach at the high school level with Dylan Dunn taking the reins. This will be Dunn’s first high school coaching job, so it will be brand new for both him and his young team.
Both team’s first meet of the season will be April 6. The boys will make a trip to Lynnville-Sully, while the girls will travel to Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont.
