pleasantville-3

Pleasantville’s boys golf team returned to the course for the first time since 2019, and youth will be the theme for this year’s team.

The Trojans will be returning three starters, all juniors, including Jake Hiemstra, Larry Remster, and Carter Ollom. Pleasantville will also have ten varsity athletes who have never participated in a high school meet with last season being shut down. Coach Chuck Sinclair tells KNIA Sports that the goal is going to be repetition at specific holes since they will be sharing the course for practice with Carlisle and Melcher-Dallas.

“What we want to do is to set time where we can each set our own designated hole for about 45 minutes before we turn everyone loose to get everyone as many holes as they can, so that is our goal for the season.”

Sinclair also states that it will be difficult replacing Isaac Roe, who graduated and will now golf at Simpson College. Pleasantville’s first meet of the season will be at home competing with ACGC, Madrid, and West Central Valley. The meet is scheduled for April 5 at 4:00 PM.
