The Simpson spring sports teams were off and running this past weekend in American Rivers Conference action.

The Storm softball squad swept Buena Vista in a three game series 7-3, 7-1, and 6-2 to improve to 3-0 in conference play and 5-4 overall. They will next play at Wartburg this weekend.

The Storm baseball team had a rough start to their conference season against the Beavers, dropping the first three contests 6-3, 15-14, and 13-7, but got a win in the series finale 9-2 to end at 1-3 in conference play and 4-6 overall. The Storm next host Loras a week from Thursday.

And the Storm volleyball team fell to nationally ranked Wartburg 25-14, 25-13, and 25-13 to end the season 2-6.

The women’s and men’s golf teams are in action today at the Jamestown Invitational.
