The recount of the Indianola mayoral election from March 2nd was held Wednesday, ending up with one changed vote, but not enough to sway an election that is now decided by 11 votes out of nearly 1,500 total. Representatives for candidates Pam Pepper and Stephanie Erickson, along with a neutral third party, awarded an extra vote for Stephanie Erickson after a ballot was filled out but not marked clearly enough and the voting machine counted as a “no vote.”

The final tally for the election was Mayor Pam Pepper winning with 682 votes, Stephanie Erickson received 671 votes, and Michelle Fetters Steen with 131 votes.
