The Indianola School Board approved the 2021-22 teacher contracts at their most recent meeting, with a negotiated 2.1% increase in wages. Superintendent Art Sathoff tells KNIA News the district extended the master contract with the Indianola Education Association for two more years, and he is glad the district got the contracts out early.
“Teachers know they have their contract, we know we have our staff in place. We continue to have some of the highest teacher pay in the state which is great because it helps us attract and retain good people. It was kind of a procedural thing but it’s nice to get it done and out to the hands of teachers soon here and give them time to sign them and get them back in.”
