Pleasantville’s boys’ track team is excited to be back on the track, and coach Dillon Daniel hopes that enthusiasm can carry over into their first meet.
The Trojans are having a hard time practicing on their track due to the high school currently having a cinder track, so Coach Daniel is having to improvise with practicing on the sidewalk and inside. Regardless, Daniel tells KNIA Sports that this season is going to be a lot different from other seasons due to the spring sports season being shut down last year.
“It’s different this year because usually we have a year off and I always get this feeling of how I am excited for track. But it is definitely different this year being away for almost two years. So this year I think is going to be very special for most track coaches, not just myself.”
Daniel’s team’s first meet is this upcoming Tuesday when they travel to Pella Christian, and it begins at 4:30.
