New PCM Girls Golf Coach Dylan Dunn is looking to make an impact in his first high school coaching job of his career.
After having last season shut down due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, Dunn will be succeeding former coach Tony Ford. Dunn is one of the newer teachers at Prairie City Elementary and has experience coaching younger kids. Dunn tells KRLS Sports that he is excited for the opportunity to coach at a higher level.
“Definitely feels that there is a little pressure especially at a school like PCM. Golf is one of those sports where they have had many good golf teams in the past so trying to keep the tradition here and hopefully building girls up to going to state. Also I am looking to build that program up from where it used to be.
Dunn also states that one of their biggest challenges will be coaching a lot of new faces and seeing progress from those new athletes. The Mustangs’ first meet of the season is April 6 when they take a trip to Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont.
