As the severe weather season begins, Marion County Sheriff Jason Sandholdt reminds residents that safety is always the number one priority. He says to not hesitate to alert authorities if something major is happening.

“We have 33,000 storm spotters in Marion County according to me. If someone sees something, I’d much rather them call in and say it looks like a tornado is developing. Then we can get our deputies or fire department members out there and confirm. We just want everybody to be safe.”

When severe weather strikes, KNIA/KRLS is the one to count on, with Severe Weather Action Team coverage for every severe thunderstorm or tornado warning in any portion of Marion or Warren Counties.
