The Indianola boys track and field squad competed in their first meet in nearly two years Thursday at ADM High School, taking home a host of first place finishes. Head coach Matt Oliver tells KNIA Sports you could feel the buzz at practice as the team was getting ready to face real competition.
“You can just sense it with the kids. It’s been building and finally we are here at the point where we can go out and see it. It’s been a long time coming, and it seems like it’s been 4-5 years since we gotten a chance to go out. There are some jitters, but definitely excited.”
The Indians will next see action on Monday at Bondurant-Farrar.
