The Indianola boys track and field squad will compete in their second meet of the season Monday on the road at Bondurant-Farrar. The Indians took home several top place finishes in their first meet at ADM, taking advantage of the athleticism on the squad and a large and hungry junior and senior class. Head coach Matt Oliver tells KNIA Sports his squad has shown great stretches of speed so far, but these early season meets will be big for technique moving forward.
“Losing last season was bad for the technical events. The throws, the jumps, the hurdles. Those are some areas where we have some question marks. Those aren’t the events where you can just come in and grip it and rip it and say I’m fast and athletic and I’m going to do this. Those are events it takes seasons and it takes time. Our coaches do a good job but we lost last year.”
Action starts at 4:45pm.
