Knoxville Hospital & Clinics generates over $16.8 million to the Marion County economy. That’s according to the latest study by the Iowa Hospital Association, which examines the jobs, income, retail sales and sales tax produced by hospitals and the rest of the state’s health care sector. CEO Kevin Kincaid tells KNIA/KRLS News that having a strong medical center plays an instrumental role in attracting new businesses and residents to the area, and that providing high quality health services throughout Marion County keeps the economy moving forward.
Additionally, KHC employees spend over $5.2 million on retail sales and contribute over $314,000 in state sales tax revenue.
