Five area standout athletes suited up for the final time as high school basketball players at the Iowa Basketball Coaches Association Pizza Ranch All-Star Games on Saturday.

Pella’s Grant Nelson and Madison Naig, Knoxville’s Kieren Nichols and Maggie Wilkins, and Indianola’s Kendall Clatt all participated in two games each among different teams featuring some of the best Iowa High School basketball seniors from 2020-21.

For the SE Iowa Boys team, Nelson scored 33 points and made seven three pointers in his two games, while Nichols added 19 between the two contests — their team went 0-2.

For the SE Iowa Girls team, Wilkins started twice, scoring 26 points and Naig added 15 total, as their squad also went 0-2 in two close contests.

Clatt of Indianola was part of the SW Girls Championship team, scoring 11 points in her two games.
