Four Simpson Storm squads were in action Saturday, including the season opening contests for the men’s and women’s soccer teams.

The Storm softball squad fell in a doubleheader to ranked Wartburg in a pair of 10-1 contests on the road, with both games the Storm falling behind early and not being able to muster up enough offense to make a comeback.

The Storm men’s soccer team moves to 10-0 in season openers under head coach Rick Isaacson, winning 2-0 over Dubuque behind goals from Mateaus Lewis and Baraka Ellie. The Storm women’s soccer team also matched up with Dubuque, but neither team could get a goal into the net, as the contest ended in a scoreless tie.

And the Simpson men’s tennis squad fell to Wartburg 6-3, but took down St. Ambrose 8-1 with the Storm sweeping the singles matches.
