Winds were more tolerable but persistent as the Central College women’s golf team saw progress in wrapping up the 36-hole the TPC Deere Run Invitational Tuesday. After enduring 50-mile per hour gusts Monday, the Dutch steadied themselves to finish with 367-353—720 and finished fifth out of 13 teams.
Freshman Mackenzie Biggs carded an 89-86—175 while Avery Woods followed with 89-88—177. Delaney Underwood had 90-88—178 and Peyton Bytnar provided the elusive fourth score the Dutch were seeking with 99-91—190. Whitney Anderson had 107-105–212.
The Dutch also had two at-large individuals with Madison Clark at 105-102—207 and Rachel Sohn at 114-94–208.
Central continues its abbreviated spring slate April 10-11 with the Kathy Niepagen Spring Fling at the Ironwood Golf Course in Normal, Illinois.
