As the 2020-21 school year comes to a close, and the full in-person schedules are implemented throughout all schools in the district, Superintendent Art Sathoff is proud of the way the area was able to respond to the pandemic and provide as best of an education to students as possible. Sathoff tells KNIA News as he reviews the year, he is proud of the work that was done.

“I really feel good about what we were able to provide the students and families. My hat is off to our staff for their hard work, there was a lot of new learning for them as well as they learned how to handle the remote element of instruction and as we’ve had different schedule changes and different rules and procedures to keep kids safe. I really want to thank families too just for their flexibility. As I look back on this year, I’m very happy that we’ve had a pretty normal, predictable experience for kids.”

Sathoff also said the student absentee rate continues to be low, and hopes that remains to be the case as more vaccines are distributed to the public and the pandemic comes to a close.
