The Knoxville School Board revised a policy Monday that allows for staff to be recognized for their service. Superintendent Cassi Pearson says that staff will now be honored for every five years spent with the district.
“For decades, we have recognized employees at their 25-year mark, their 40-year mark, and at retirement. We decided that in today’s world, people need recognition for being somewhere before 25 years. The board has allowed us to start with a five-year mark. This spring, we’ll be recognizing staff of five years, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35 and 40. We really appreciate the board making that change so we can honor staff for being here every day and sticking with us year after year.”
