The Knoxville City Council met in regular session Monday. They passed a concept from Confluence for the VA campus, setting the stage for the project. Council member Dylan Morse says it’s a big step in the process.
“There’s movement happening with the county and demolition contractors, it’s a really exciting time to be in Knoxville. I would make a motion to approve Concept 1 Master Planning VA Development.”
In other business, they set April 19th as a public hearing date for a Knoxville Economic Development Corporation proposed offer to purchase the former East Elementary School site. They tabled a discussion on a funding agreement with Knoxville Economic Development Authority at $50,000 per year for five years to assist in housing development endeavors. They approved a goal setting report compiled from previous work sessions.
The next Knoxville City Council meeting will be April 19th at 6:15 p.m.
