Melcher-Dallas competed in their first coed track meet of 2021 at Meskwaki Settlement High School, as they finished second behind just HLV to start the season.

The Saints’ girls got first place finishes in the 1500 and 3200 meter run from J’Lyn Knutson. Grace Overgaard also finished first in two events, which were in shot put and discus, with distances of 33’8” and 107’4”, respectively. Karsyn Mateer finished second in the high jump.

Melcher-Dallas’ boys got one first-place finish, which was from Lucas Harrington in the discus throw with a length of 91’10”. The Saints also got a first place finish in the distance medley with a time of 4:12.17. Steven Krpan finished second in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:02.04.

Both teams’ next week is Thursday, as the boys take a trip to Clarke, while the girls will compete at Interstate-35. Both meets will begin at 4:30 PM.
