Several Tulip City softball alumni are back in competition this spring after their 2020 seasons were halted due to COVID-19.

Former Pella starting pitcher Kinzi Van Wyk remains at Lafayette College in the NCAA Division I Patriot League. The Leopards pitcher has thrown in four games so far, striking out 7 batters in 14 ⅔ innings. She has logged 181 innings in three seasons.

A first-team All-State softball player from the 2019 Lady Dutch has seen plenty of action for the UNI Panthers. Maddie Parks is a redshirt freshman outfielder for the Panthers, logging 13 hits in 45 at bats, with two home runs, 15 runs scored, and 16 walks in 18 games started.

Twice an All-State selection as a Pella Christian Eagle, Lizzy Van Manen is in limited action this spring, listed as a senior for Jacksonville State. The former All-American and DII JUCO National Catcher of the Year, she hit a homerun for Division I Jacksonville State on March 24th, and has tallied 11 at bats in seven appearances.

Former Pella Christian Eagle Ivy Terpstra came back to the game after a year away and a transfer to Dordt University, where she’s an infielder, appearing in 17 games with 8 runs scored.

Cheyanne Collins is the most recent pitcher of record for the Pella Christian Eagles when their season ended in the regional semifinals last summer. She is now with the Ellsworth Community College Panthers, and has started eight games so far this spring, winning three games in 42 innings of work.
