The Knoxville Boys Golf Squad played at home on the Pine Knolls course for the first time this season and took home top honors in a triangular by shooting a 160 to Carlisle’s 196, and Pleasantville’s 220. Knoxville’s Beau Leisure was medalist carding a 36, while Evan Smith was runner up with a 37 and Carson Uitermarkt shot a 43. Both Leisure, Uitermarkt and Smith all told KNIA/KRLS Sports it was a good day of golf but there are still some things that need work.
Leisure:
“Driver was rolling pretty well, when you drive well here, it becomes a lot easier.”
Uitermarkt:
“I was alright, putting was a little difficult so putting needs to improve a little bit.”
Smith:
“I was actually striking the ball well, the short came and two and three putting was making me struggle a bit.”
Pleasantville was led by Jaxx Lovell shooting a 50. Knoxville is in action on Tuesday at the Albia Invitational, while Pleasantville travels to Woodward-Granger for a triangular on Monday.
