It is a busy Monday for Knoxville Spring Sports Squads as four events are on the calendar. Girls Golf has the only home event at Pine Knolls with a triangular against Chariton and Clarke. The Panthers have seen the Indians in every meet this year so far. Boys Soccer is on the road to Chariton after suffering a disappointing loss to Albia on Thursday. The track and field squads will travel to Norwalk. For the girls, Coach Michael Splavec says while many of the relay spots are fairly certain, he is still experimenting with kids in different line ups to get the best four runners in each event.
Splavec:
“We’ve got a pretty good idea of where we want kids to be, it’s kind of like a basketball coach early in the season kind of playing with their line up, but we have a group of 5-6 kids that we’re certain to be in those positions for a while.”
Splavec adds his team steps up in competition this week with the Norwalk meet on Monday and then hosting the Panther Relays on Thursday.
