Melcher-Dallas Boys Golf Finish 4th in Meet at Shady Oaks
In their first meet of the season, Melcher-Dallas’ boys’ golf team finished fourth with a team score of 229.
The Saints’ low scorer of the meet was Trevon Johnson with a score of 52, six strokes ahead of their next-lowest golfer, Chase Ripperger. Tyler Giles finished third on the team in scoring with a 59. Johnson finished one stroke behind Carter Ollom of Pleasantville and Austin Clendenen of Southeast Warren.
The Saints will be back in action for a co-ed meet at Moravia Friday. The meet will begin at 4:00 PM.
Melcher-Dallas Boys Track Finishes 6th at Central Decatur, Girls Track 7th at East Union
Both Melcher-Dallas track teams competed on the road and the Saints’ boys finished sixth at Central Decatur while the girls placed seventh at East Union.
The Saints’ boys finished with 34 points, ahead of conference opponents Mormon Trail and Orient-Macksburg. Melcher-Dallas had two top-two finishes in team events at Central Decatur, which were a first-place finish at the 4×100 meter weight person relay and a second-place finish in the 400 meter shuttle hurdle relay.

The Saints’ girls finished with 33 points, ahead of four conference opponents. Melcher-Dallas had two first-place finishes, which were J’Lyn Knutson in the 3000 meter run and Grace Overgaard in discus.

Melcher-Dallas’ girls’ track will be back in action Thursday when they travel for a meet at Central Decatur. The Saints’ boys will travel to Wayne-Corydon for their next meet on Monday. Both meets will begin at 4:30 PM.
