Pleasantville Boys and Girls Golf Win Meets Close to Home
Pleasantville’s girls’ and boys’ golf teams finished with the lowest score in their meets at Shady Oaks and Pleasantville.
The Trojans’ boys’ low scorer of the night was freshman Carter Metcalf, who had a score of 47. Jake Hiemstra and Jaxx Lovell tied for second with a 48, just one stroke behind Metcalf. Rounding out the scoring for Pleasantville was Carter Ollom, who had a 51.
The Trojans’ girls finished with a score of 2018 and had the three lowest scorers of the meet, led by Kristen Roe with a 50. Breanna Benge was second on the team and in the whole meet with a 51. Third on the team was Lauren Cook with a 57. Cheyenne Pagel was the fourth Trojan to finish in the top five with a 60.
Pleasantville’s girls will be back in action Thursday for another home meet while the boys next meet will be Monday, when they travel to Chariton for a triangular with the host and Centerville.
Pleasantville Boys Track Finish 6th, Girls 8th at Pella Christian
At the Pella Christian coed track invitational, Pleasantville’s boys’ track team finished sixth, while the girls finished eighth.
The Trojans’ boys had two top-three finishes in field events and finished with a total of 46.5 points. Braidy Friday finished third in the discus, finishing with a distance of 126’3”. The other top-three finish came from Matthew Kauffman, who finished third with a distance of 41’6.5”.
Pleasantville’s girls finished with two top-three finishes, including one individual and one team event. Kaylee Hodenfield finished third in the shot put with a distance of 32’8.5”. The Trojans also finished second in the 4×200 meter relay with a time of 2:04.62.

Both Trojans track teams will be back in action for meets Thursday. The girls will travel to Central Decatur, while the boys will be at Saydel. Both meets begin at 4:30 PM.
