The Indianola girls golf team will compete in their second meet of the season today, making the road trip to Beaver Creek Golf Course in Grimes to take on the host Dallas Center-Grimes Mustangs and Newton Cardinals. Action starts today at 3pm.
The Indianola boys track and field team will head to Waukee and compete among 13 other area schools among the states best, while the Indians girls are headed to the Panther Relays at Knoxville High School in neighboring Marion County. Head coach Kim Arndt tells KNIA Sports the squad is in a good place with athletes embracing their roles on the team.
“I’m pleasantly surprised at this point. We’ve had some younger kids step up, some older kids step up, and I think we are going to make some noise and a run at a conference championship again. I think it will be a tight race between four teams. But the kids are excited which is always good, it’s good if they are into it and excited about it. I think the next month or so will be a really exciting time.”
Boys track starts at 4pm, while the girls begin at 4:30pm.
