The Simpson softball team fell in the series finale of a three-game set against Central Thursday afternoon 13-5. The Storm fell behind quickly five to nothing in the first inning, and trailed 8-1 going into the bottom of the third. After a quick rally the Storm cut the lead down to 8-5 with a Randie Richmond home run, but the Dutch were too strong and plated another five runs to earn the 2-1 series win. Simpson is now 8-13 and 6-9 in conference play, and next heads to Fulton, Missouri on Saturday to begin a two-game series at Westminster.

The Storm baseball squad fell to Coe in a pair of games to begin a four-game series Thursday, 11-8 in game one and 9-4 in the nightcap. The first game saw the Storm fall behind early a, giving up a four-run second and eventually going down 8-2 after the fifth and could not muster a comeback. The Storm fell behind 5-0 going into the seventh inning before scoring a pair of runs to get back into the contest, but gave up six runs to fall behind 11-2. A six-run comeback attempt took place in the eighth, but the Storm fell short. Simpson is now 7-13 on the season and 4-10 in conference play, and will next complete the series with the Kohawks tomorrow.
