60 sprint cars took practice laps last night at the Knoxville Raceway on practice night in preparation for the 68th Annual Season Opening night. Fastest in the 410s was Austin McCarl, taking advantage of a week off from racing in California with a lap of :14.958. Fastest in the 360s was Jamie Ball cutting a lap of :16.289, and fastest in the Pro Sprints was Devin Wignall with a lap of :17.259. One of the contenders this season in the 410 class a familiar face in a different place. Matt Juhl is driving for the TKS Motorsports Team in a combined effort with his own operation. Juhl tells KNIA/KRLS Sports the goal is to win a points title, and get his hand on the extra money the raceway is offering this season.

Juhl:
“Running for more money always helps. I appreciate what the raceway does to help, and that’s why I’ve come down here to race the last 3-4 years.”

Tonight is one of several nights during the season that the weekly 410 show will pay $5,000 to win. You can hear the season opening night at the Knoxville Raceway live on KNIA with Live Track Side at 5:00, and Race Nights Live at 7:00. A note to fans due to the predicted cold temperatures hot laps will begin at 6:00, rather than the normal 6:45.
