Those raising money for Special Olympics Iowa will converge on Lake Ahquabi today at noon to participate in the annual Warren County Polar Plunge. Organizer Randy Spurr tells KNIA News the normal date of late February was pushed back due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but despite the changes and difficulties, organizers wanted to hold the event as it will still raise money for a good cause. Those who have not registered to plunge can still participate in the event with a monetary donation or purchasing a t-shirt. The regular post-plunge banquet will not take place this year, with Hy-Vee providing a sack lunch. Social distancing and other safety measures will be put in place. For more information, click below.
