THRIVE Knoxville is hosting a Spring Into Parks event at Auld Park to clean the area in preparation for outdoor recreation this spring and summer. Community members are invited to volunteer their time to make improvements on Sunday, April 25th from 1:00 to 3:30 p.m. Board member Cassi Pearson encourages people to volunteer a couple hours of their time to help create a positive image of the city.

“One of the things we believe is that by volunteering and giving back to your community, it makes you feel great. It also rubs off on other people, so when people drive by and see other people at a park helping to clean up, it inspires them to do community service in other areas. It’s contagious. So if you would be willing to come volunteer at Spring Into Parks, we have a feeling there will be other opportunities throughout the year for you to do so as well.”

People are asked to bring their own work gloves, but all other materials will be provided. No sign-up is necessary, and masks are optional. Learn more about the event here.
