The Norwalk girls golf team was back in action Tuesday in Pella after Monday’s meet at Winterset was postponed. The Warriors finished second in a triangular with a score of 211, behind champion Dallas Center-Grimes and ahead of hosting Pella. Senior Lauren Davis was the runner-up medalist with 48 strokes. Head Coach Steve Wermerskirchen said there’s improvement to be made overall, but the team handled the challenge of an unfamiliar course.
The team returns to action Thursday at Oskaloosa.
The girls soccer team hosted Oskaloosa in a conference match, and dominated 10-0. It was over quickly, as the Warriors led 8-0 at the half. Six players scored goals, with junior JoJo Bice leading the way with three Norwalk moves to 6-0 overall and 2-0 in conference play. They’ll be back in action Tuesday at home against Newton.
The boys soccer team was at Oskaloosa, and picked up a 3-1 victory. Norwalk took a 1-0 lead into halftime, and tacked on two more goals to seal the victory. The Warriors move to 4-4 overall and 2-1 in Little Hawkeye Conference play. They’ll host Johnston Thursday.
