The Pella City Council approved four resolutions to secure financing for three key infrastructure projects at their meeting Tuesday evening. Loan agreements and issuance of loan notes for improvements related to the new Lely Park, 218th Avenue/Neil Drive reconstruction, and a new wildlife fence at the Pella Municipal Airport were all approved.
Council also approved the second reading an ordinance for a planned unit development for the Pella Market on Main Street south of downtown.
The first reading of a zoning change for 9.66 acres of land along 218th Place from agricultural to mixed commercial for Eagle Electric, was approved. The business is owned by Councilmember Bruce Scheibout, who abstained from discussion and the vote. The council also approved a resolution for a 28E Agreement between Indianola Municipal Utilities and Pella Fiber for use of cable television services.
Following regular business at policy and planning, discussion was held about parking in the Central Business District this summer, a request regarding the alleyway north of 700 Washington Street, and a proposed amendment to the city’s purchasing policy for the purchase of a new fire truck.
