The Knoxville Fire Department was dispatched to the Knoxville Pizza Hut at approximately 11:00 a.m. Thursday for the report of a kitchen fire. When crews arrived, they were informed by staff that they had used a fire extinguisher on a grease fire in one of the fryers. Crews determined that the fire had been put out, and ventilated the building.
As is procedure with establishments that serve food, the business will remain closed until it can be reinspected.
Knoxville Fire/EMS was assisted on scene by the Knoxville Police Department and Marion County Public Health.
