Melcher-Dallas Girls Score 271, Boys 246 in quadrangular at Shady Oaks

Both of Melcher-Dallas’ golf teams continue to struggle throughout the season, as both the boys and girls finished at the bottom of the rankings in their meet Thursday.

The Saints’ girls finished with a score of 271, 30 strokes behind Wayne. Melcher-Dallas’ top golfer of the day was Kynser Reed, who scored a 53. The score was good for a tie for first place individually with Wayne’s Abby Clark. Kynser’s sister, Kasyn, finished second on the team with a score of 68.

Melcher-Dallas’ boys finished with a score of 246, fourth in the quadrangular with Wayne, Southeast Warren, and Martensdale-St. Mary’s. The Saints’ low golfer of the day was Trevon Johnson, who scored a 53. Second on the team in scoring was Kade Martin, who had a 57.

Both Saints’ squads will be back in action Monday, this time for a dual meet with Southeast Warren at Shady Oaks again. The meet will begin at 4:00 PM.

Melcher-Dallas Girls Track Back in Action, Goes to BGM

Melcher-Dallas’ girls’ track team will be competing for the first time in over a week as they take a trip to BGM.

Last time the Saints competed was last Thursday when they went to Central Decatur and finished sixth out of a possible 15 teams. In that meet, J’lyn Knutson finished first in both the 1500 and 3000 meter runs. The Saints also got a first-place finish from Grace Overgaard in Discus. Melcher-Dallas had their home meet that was scheduled for Tuesday cancelled due to inclement weather.

The dual meet will begin at BGM High School at 4:30 PM.
