Five Norwalk varsity teams were in action Thursday. The girls golf team was at an invitational in Oskaloosa, and placed 2nd of 11 teams, shooting 404. The team returns to action Tuesday at home.
The girls tennis team dropped just two matches in a 9-2 home victory over Newton. At No. 1 singles, sophomore Kelsey Dammeier went the distance, but picked up the slim victory. She said it was a matter of settling in to seal the win.
The team returns to action Monday with a home triangular against Saydel and North Polk.
The boys tennis team was at Newton, but fell 7-4. Victories came from Carter LaVelle at No. 1 singles, as well as the 2, 3, and 4 doubles teams. They’re back in action today at 10:00 a.m. at an invitational in Ankeny.
The girls track & field team was at Roland-Story, finishing fourth with 76 points. Top finishers were:

The Warriors return Monday at Winterset.
The boys soccer team capped the day, hosting #10 Johnston in non-conference action. It was the Dragons scoring the game’s only goal with two minutes to play, knocking off Norwalk 1-0. The Warriors return to action Monday at West Des Moines Valley.
